Recreational Activities

The Club offer a range of other programs and opportunities to ski:

  • Skiing Parents - Parents get to ski and the kids enjoy playing so everyone goes home happy! Timing based on interests of parents.
  • Adult Recreational Sunday Ski - Skiing is a social sport! Join us for a free group ski every Sunday at 1pm. Bob and Suzanne will make sure that you enjoy either your first discovery of ski trails or your return to trails every weekend, cold or not! Skiing tips may be included, but we leave these to the instructors (see adult lessons). However, tips on how to slap on wax, survive loppets and finish recreational races “with your toque still on and looking good” will be provided a-plenty.  Coordinators: Suzanne Carriere & Bob Reid (873-8642)
  • Chix on Stix! Women’s Recreational Evening Ski - Join in on the fun every Monday night. This free drop-in ski starts at 7:30pm in the Club stadium. Join us for a few loops around the lit trails or venture off on other trails guided by moonlight or headlamps. Après ski social often follows. All levels welcome. Contact: Dana Britton, (h) 669-7075, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • Backcountry Ski Tours - Get introduced to skiing off track by exploring a touring area with a group on Sundays. There are many rarely used skidoo trails around Yellowknife that offer great skiing and the chance to experience our beautiful winter landscape. Meet at the Club at 1:30pm and travel to the touring area together. Tours range from 6-16km in length, and skiiers should come prepared for skiing in the backcountry.  Leader: TBD. Go to our event calendar for a list of Tours offered this season.
