Adult ski lessons 2023/2024

The Yellowknife Ski Club is offering adult group ski lessons this winter, registration will open Saturaday Nov. 4

Introduction to Cross Country Skiing: for people who have never skied before and are not comfortable on skis. Max 8 per session.

Session 1: Saturdays 11am – 1pm, Dec. 9 – Jan. 13, 2024                                      Session 2: Sunday 1-3pm, Jan 7 – Feb. 4, 2024

Beginner Classic: for people who are comfortable on skis but want to improve their technique and become more comfortable on hills. Max 8 per session.

Session 1: Sundays 1-3pm, Dec. 3 – 23                                                                            Session 2: Saturdays 11am-1pm, Jan 27 – Feb. 17, 2024

Fees for All Adult Ski Lessons 

  • Member Individual $80 for 4-weeks
  • Non-Member Individual $120 for 4-weeks

Participants need to bring their own gear or rent from Overlander Sports. 

Lessons will be rescheduled if the static temperature is below -25C and are subject to adequate snow coverage.

For those who have previously taken lessons – come on out and get a refresh on your technique at the start of the season.

Friday Technique Tune-up                                                                                        Starting as soon as there is enough snow to ski!

Fridays 12:20-1:20 – geared towards intermediate skiers

A short lesson on various aspects of technique giving you something to work on that weekend when you ski.

If you have to be back at work for 1, you will get the technique demonstration and some practice. If you have more time, you can ‘ski it in’ before heading back to work.

Private lessons

What about equipment? 

Participants must provide their own boots, skis and poles. If you don’t have equipment, rentals are available at Overlander Sports. Any ski rentals at Overlander Sports include access to our trails, which means non-members who rent skis save $40 on trail fees. Conversely, members of our club receive a 10 per cent discount on new ski equipment at Overlander Sports.
