Introduction to Cross country Skiing
Dates: February 12, 19, 26 and March 5
Time: 1:00 – 3:00pm
Cost: $80 (plus $40 in trail fees for non-members. If you rent equipment from Overlanders, these trail fees are waived)
Novice Classic
Date: Saturday January 14, Sunday January 22, and Sunday January 29
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Cost: $80 (+ $30 in trail fees if you are a non-member. If you are renting equipment from Overlander Sports, non-member trail fees are waived.)
This is a foundation-building course for people comfortable on skis but who want to improve their technique and become more comfortable on hills.
Skate Ski Lessons for beginners (Maximum 6 participants)
Date: Sunday November 13
Time: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Cost: $20
This is a skate ski foundation lesson for beginners. Skiers will learn the essentials of glide, balance, propulsion and timing. Specific techniques will be introduced as time and conditions allow.

This course is for adults who are relatively new to skiing. The course will cover fundamental techniques that will quickly improve your comfort on skis and your skiing ability. The course will take place over four Saturdays across November and December. Participants must have (or rent) skis.
Please arrive early, dressed warm, with skis waxed.

Learn to Frostbite 50 (maximum 15 participants)
Dates: December 11, 18, 2022, and January 8 – March 11, 2023.
Time: Most skis will begin at 11:00am
Cost: $220

This course is for adults who want to improve their endurance, learn about the trails in and around Yk, dress and snack for cold weather sports, break their personal best in ski length, and truly enjoy the outdoors in winter. Includes in-person strength workouts, glide waxing tutorials, and motivation to ski all winter long! (The length of each ski will vary depending on weather, time of year and snow conditions.)

What about equipment?
Participants must provide their own boots, skis and poles. If you don’t have equipment, rentals are available at Overlander Sports. Any ski rentals at Overlander Sports include access to our trails, which means non-members who rent skis save $40 on trail fees. Conversely, members of our club receive a 10 per cent discount on new ski equipment at Overlander Sports.
